Description

The State and Local Government Sales organization has an immediate opening for an Account Executive who will focus on selling to the Ohio, Missouri, or Indiana State and Local Government. Your responsibilities will consist of executing strategies and best practices that will create new business revenue from a platform of different SAS products.

Job Responsibilities:

Selling a portfolio of SAS products including Data Integration, Data Cleansing, Data Warehousing, Reporting and Advanced Analytics.
Developing and selling business solutions that meet customers’ needs.
Executing proven sales/marketing tactics and programs in order to meet or exceed assigned territory objectives.
Identifying, qualifying and disqualifying prospective agencies to build the appropriate funnel portfolio in order to meet or exceed assigned territory objectives
Developing and executing a territory marketing plan including a territory management plan
Managing customer and prospect accounts to achieve expedient purchase decisions and to assist customers with problem resolutions
Identifying and calling on all levels of an organization from a ground-level technician to senior agency heads/elected officials/ “C” level executives
Demonstrating your ability to utilize your contacts to leverage access to a client, prospect or partner in order to gain access and to move opportunities forward
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential

Bachelor’s degree in a business or quantitative field of study
5 years of experience in software sales or 5 years of experience in a position with increasing responsibility within State and Local Governments
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time or as business needs require

Additional

Knowledge of software acquisition cycles and buying influences
Advanced knowledge of industry software and hardware terminology and concepts
Knowledge of SAS System products and services preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic selling skills, skills in analyzing and evaluating territory dynamics to develop and implement a sales plan
Ability to initiate and lead projects
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to relate technical and business concepts to SAS System applications and user needs

Preferences

Work location of Ohio, Missouri, or Indiana
Current contacts within Ohio, Missouri, or Indiana State and Local Government space where you have become a trusted advisor to the client regardless of the logo on your business card
Five plus years of Local Government software sales experience
Five plus years of experience in consulting sales of business solutions relevant to the State & Local Government space
Demonstrated understanding of Local Government procurement procedures and sales cycles
Demonstrated success developing new territories
Experience selling enterprise software solutions and business intelligence software
History of achieving sales targets (quotas)
Experience with complex sales cycles
