Develop scalable policy solutions to the hardest questions and customize those solutions to market-specific circumstances. Field one-off inquiries from regional teams and produce answers in a quickly deployable format. Serve as the central point of contact for the EMEA public policy and communications team as we disseminate our positions on policy matters.

Work closely with European institutions

Identify and lead engagement with european institutions, comsumer groups, academics issues advocacy organisations, think tanks, and civil society in general. Speak publicly on Uber’s behalf before these and other audiences.

Hustle Hustle Hustle– The Policy team moves fast. We’re looking for someone who is independent and adaptable as we work in and move to new places. The right candidate makes friends fast, figures out their opposition faster, and is comfortable in uncomfortable situations.

An Articulate Wonk — We’re helping develop the regulatory framework for the next generation of transportation services. You need to be comfortable with complex legal issues and wading through regulatory jargon. You will need to be able to articulate our stance in a plain, spoken manner to a wide variety of audiences at a moment’s notice.

Attitude – We work really hard and we’re having a blast doing it. This team believes that what we’re doing will change the world for the better – and we want motivated, highly-communicative teammates to help us with that goal.

Languages : a good or fluent level in German is a major plus.

Position will be based in London or Amsterdam and requires travel.

Competitive candidates probably have at five years plus of government relations experience at EU level, including directly engaging policy makers and/or regulators. But the length of your resume is significantly less important than the other qualities we’re looking for (see, e.g., hustle, wonk, and attitude).
