First Data Government Solutions’ is undergoing a period of rapid growth.  As a Sales Executive, you will be driving sales for key state and local government clients in New York.  Using your proven ability to drive new business you will be meeting with client executive leadership to solidify a trusted relationship and demonstrate how First Data products and services solve their problems.  You will identify new business opportunities with clients in our existing markets by cross selling products and services.  You will identify new clients, markets, and potential products that drive more opportunity.  You will be a recognizable leader in the industry by presenting at industry conferences, sponsoring thought leadership papers, and actively participating in industry organizations such as NASCIO.

You will be part of a team of sales executives, product specialists, solution consultants, and relationship managers that bring a variety of skills to deepen client relationships and secure new business.  The team will leverage your deep knowledge and contacts in the State and Local Government market, your strong client relationship management skills, and your prospecting and sales skills.  The team will provide you a working knowledge of their products and services. Together you will recommend and sell solutions to new and existing clients.

You will spend significant time meeting with multiple clients, creating the need for travel approximately 30%-50% of the time.

Job Specific Responsibilities The Sales Executive will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with new and existing clients
    • Grow a geographic portfolio base of business
    • Establish and maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information and guidance
    • Synthesize various market drivers into strategic sales plans
    • Enhance team member accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for less experience team members, teaching improved processes, and mentoring team members
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Candidate Requirements
    • 10+ years sales experience required with a minimum of 5 years selling products and services to Government agencies
    • Sales capability – negotiate, influence, sell value
    • Energy, passion
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively present to C-level executives
    • Demonstrated ability to win new business
  • Existing client relationships that can be leveraged to attract new business
Preferred Qualifications
