Business Area Manager

Job Summary:

Utilizing the design software for routing and a design suite for detailed high voltage transmission design and planning, Corridor Analysis, as well as leveraging other Trimble available technologies, are the enabling factors.

The position holder needs to be hands on, leading by example, detailed orientated strategic thinker who is able to lead a small team.

The current team needs to get help in understanding overall Trimble’s values and business direction leveraging the bigger Trimble footprint to grow the business. Our targeted customers are Utilities, EPC companies and consulting companies. A strategic account management approach is needed to achieve the targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish a clear business direction based on the Vision and Strategy
Execute on this Strategy and reach the financial targets
Utilize existing team and build more strength into the team over time
Get certain regulations cleared for our product and solution offering
Establish a clear strategic marketing plan inclusive the execution
Establish a clear sales approach based on opportunities, customer needs and business strength
Establish channel and market penetration to reach financial goals
Monitor market trends and competition ensuring fast reaction time
Responsible for a financial targets (revenue, margin and earnings)
Ensure that overall objectives are met
Develops quarterly forecast and annual budgets.
Active involvement in development and analysis and decision making for marketing programs to meet objectives
Plays a critical role in business development needs such as strategic partnering relationships.
Provide needed leadership for existing team
Hiring the right candidates to strengthen the team going forward
Suggest clear R&D priorities
Establish some key accounts as reference customers
Get regulations for our products established at NERC, FEMA etc.
Work closely with the US government business group in order to establish visibility and references in the department of energy

Skills & Experience Required:

Strong analytical and planning experience
Ability to articulating and driving financial and operational strategies.
Possess solid understanding of financial impact of business decisions. Ability to define and achieve business goals, and to drive to resolution on critical issues.
Ability to communicate across business functions
Presentation skills at the management level.
Strong intelligence coupled with market insight, high energy and non-linear imagination. Must be able to derive concepts from “first principles” and to survive in an adaptive, intellectually aggressive environment.
Have a balance of “organizational intelligence”, strategic insight and effective execution; must be able to flourish in a matrix organizational environment
Uncompromising ethics and a commitment to transparency
Driven to meet performance goals.
Approachable, hands on, “grease and glue”, team player problem solver. Must be able to see a dotted-line staff position as a high leverage position
