Per rispondere alla futura domanda tecnologica, gli investimenti in nuove infrastrutture di data center<\/strong> si fondano spesso su un approccio ottimistico, ma si deve considerare che, quando si tratta di prevenire i tempi di inattivit\u00e0<\/strong>, gli operatori sono spesso molto pragmatici.<\/p>\n

Indipendentemente dalla causa (apparecchiature difettose, criminali informatici o interruzioni di corrente), l\u2019investimento in infrastrutture resilienti<\/strong>, unito a rigorose pratiche operative, \u00e8 volto a garantire che il sistema funzioni ininterrottamente o, nel peggiore dei casi, che rimanga spento per il minor tempo possibile. Purtroppo, come sottolinea la recente pubblicazione della ricerca Post Pandemic Data Centers <\/strong><\/a>dell\u2019Uptime Institute Intelligence<\/strong><\/a>, l\u2019emergenza sanitaria ha preso alla sprovvista molti operatori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nonostante negli ultimi mesi sembra si siano verificati un numero relativamente limitato di casi nei quali ci sono stati tempi di inattivit\u00e0, la pandemia ha esercitato un\u2019ulteriore pressione sulla progettazione e costruzione di data center, sulle catene di approvvigionamento e sugli skill del personale interno<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Preparare l\u2019infrastruttura del data center a pandemie future<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gli operatori pi\u00f9 attenti si sono resi conto che la pandemia non pu\u00f2 pi\u00f9 essere considerata come un episodio isolato<\/strong>. \u00c8 necessario che pianificazione e processi adottati in questo periodo siano integrati nelle strategie di resilienza dell\u2019infrastruttura del data center.<\/p>\n

Come spiegato da Uptime: \u00abIl Covid-19 potrebbe non essere l\u2019ultima pandemia, pertanto gli operatori devono tenere presente che non stanno apportando i cambiamenti solamente in risposta a questo singolo episodio ma anche in previsione di possibili pandemie future<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Quali sono i cambiamenti legati alla pandemia?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Uptime li suddivide in tre fasi<\/strong> con una valenza temporale presente e futura. La \u201creazione\u201d descrive le prime azioni di emergenza intraprese dagli operatori di data center nelle prime settimane o nei primi mesi. Un esempio \u00e8 stata la riduzione dei team in sede<\/strong> e l\u2019introduzione di regimi di sanificazione rigorosi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La seconda fase \u00e8 la \u201cmitigazione<\/strong>\u201d e riguarda lo stato attuale in cui si trova la maggior parte degli operatori. Sempre secondo Uptime, i processi previsti nella fase reattiva diventano azioni da attuare anche in futuro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nonostante le due prime fasi siano state fondamentali per ridurre parte dell\u2019interruzione iniziale causata dalla pandemia, la terza<\/strong> \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 rilevante<\/strong> in quanto identifica la direzione futura da intraprendere.<\/p>\n

Reazione, mitigazione e adattamento<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Secondo Uptime la \u201cfase di adattamento<\/strong>\u201d \u00e8 ci\u00f2 che il settore dei data center dovr\u00e0 affrontare nei prossimi 18 mesi. Il virus, oramai ampiamente contenuto (si spera), porter\u00e0 a prestare maggiore attenzione a minimizzare l\u2019impatto delle possibili pandemie future.<\/p>\n

Quest\u2019ultima fase di adattamento riguarda alcuni cambiamenti tecnologici<\/strong> e operativi<\/strong>, alcuni gi\u00e0 in atto prima della pandemia, la cui adozione accelerer\u00e0 man mano che gli operatori acquisiranno consapevolezza delle possibili minacce future.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Uptime, insieme a<\/strong> Vertiv<\/strong><\/a> e ad altre aziende del settore, sostiene che si verificher\u00e0 un aumento nell\u2019adozione della tecnologia di monitoraggio da remoto<\/strong>, di automazione<\/strong>, e degli strumenti di gestione dell\u2019infrastruttura del data center <\/strong>(DCIM). Il 90% degli operatori intervistati da Uptime ha dichiarato di voler incrementare l\u2019uso del monitoraggio da remoto.<\/p>\n

Da DCIM a data center modulari prefabbricati<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In aggiunta agli investimenti destinati al monitoraggio e alla gestione da remoto, si verificher\u00e0 un aumento generale di quelli che mirano a migliorare la resilienza dei siti<\/strong>. Secondo Uptime, a causa della pandemia, il 64% degli operatori prevede di aumentare la resilienza delle infrastrutture. Ad oggi, consapevoli che una futura pandemia potrebbe impedire l\u2019accesso a un sito o portare a interruzioni di corrente localizzate, sta crescendo l\u2019interesse verso le<\/strong> tecnologie sviluppate da grandi provider di cloud<\/strong>. Con questo approccio, dati e carichi di lavoro di ogni sito, vengono replicati e condivisi tra pi\u00f9 sedi connesse.<\/p>\n

Le altre tecnologie, considerate da Uptime ancora pi\u00f9 critiche nello scenario post-pandemico, includono l\u2019uso dei cosiddetti PFM<\/strong>. Uptime sostiene che, anche prima della pandemia, si stava consolidando un approccio che prevede di esternalizzare completamente la costruzione del data center, dalla progettazione al collaudo, con il vantaggio di una realizzazione pi\u00f9 rapida e un montaggio in loco pi\u00f9 facile. Allo stesso modo, anche la manutenzione predittiva<\/strong> stava prendendo piede prima della pandemia, ma ora sembra destinata a essere adottata su larga scala<\/strong>, in quanto si sta cercando di ridurre al minimo le visite in loco di operatori e fornitori e di introdurre servizi pi\u00f9 intelligenti e guidati dall\u2019AI.<\/p>\n
