The individual in this position is responsible for driving the national strategy and oversight for the career college sales division.  The position has direct responsibility for this $150M segment of MHHE sales.  This includes supervision of a National Accounts Managers, Director of Sales, District Managers and Sales Representatives. Develop close working relationships with owners and administrators of the largest for-profit colleges.  Work closely with business partners to ensure the execution of profitable, long-term business relationships.  As this segment implements digital solutions our leadership needs to incorporate innovative, creative and financially profitable solutions. This role is responsible for developing and leading the sales organization.  This includes Sales Reps, District Managers, and National Account Managers. Develop new opportunities within the Private Sector Market.  Capture new and takeaway business within the sales channel.  Ensure that our digital products are required used and purchased.  Market MHHE as a valuable partner rather than a vendor.  Combat price erosion by creating high value enterprise offers, instead of enterprise offers based on discounting content.

 

Talent – Identify, recruit and develop the talent to properly invest in and develop talent across the organization.  The group includes a mix of sales, digital, production and manufacturing responsibility.  Strong leadership is required to blend the talent required to drive digital innovative solutions in a changing market with diminishing requirements for print solutions.

 

Processes and Procedures – This position requires significant redevelopment and initiation of new processes and procedures to manage our custom print and digital production processes.  This also includes developing conducive working relationships with the hundreds of sales representatives and sales managers that provide the leads and customer relationships for our sales strategies.

Required Experience
Change agent – The organization requires significant change in delivering customized solutions beyond simple product adaptations.  Changes in technology allow for print-on-demand and highly customized digital solutions that require strong leadership and effective decision-making.

Deep customer experience – The position requires an individual who has extensive experience the Career sales channels of higher education.  The scope of responsibility ranges from developing institutional relationships to individual custom adoption strategies; each will play a significant part in changing the distribution strategy for the entire company.

Strategic thinker – Determining the strategy from a myriad of choices is a very important characteristic for this position.

Innovation – Ability to conceive of new or market-driven ideas that generate revenue and identify talent-pools in order to bring new concepts to market.

Communicator – The position requires the ability to describe our strategies, make them exiting and vivid and coordinate a single coordinated effort across the organization.

Problem solver – Solutions vary dramatically from system wide implementations to single adoptions. The balancing of sales, planning, production and manufacturing requires a problem solver with experience and a willingness to explore alternatives to improve time-to-market and leading-edge innovation. Must be able to provide viable, cost-effective, and timely solutions to drive market leadership and increased sales.

Analytical – Armed with data, this position needs to search for patterns and connections. It’s crucial to understand how certain patterns affect one another. Careful coordination with Finance is required to maintain and improve margin and profitability. All selling, production and manufacturing decisions and strategies combine in an effort to change the business while maintaining healthy financial ratios.
