Provides leadership for those involved in one or more information systems function (e.g., development, design and optimization, implementation and/or maintenance of technical information systems platforms) for a specific user group or organizational unit. Consults with management to determine the information systems needs and project priorities, scope and goals; leads or sponsors technology projects; researches and applies best practices to processes and procedures as appropriate; and evaluates how new technologies, products and techniques can meet future technology needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware and software, and database management.
