As Lead Java Software Engineer working in a team made up of Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, User Interaction Design Engineers, Software Architects, and the Product Owner team to lead design, development, and delivery of high quality software in a fast paced, challenging, and creative environment.
In this role, you will:

    • Responsible for design of Software Module
    • Own and communicate design specification to stakeholders
  • Own development and delivery responsibility of your design in Agile environment
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in software development
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with Java programming languages
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills
    • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
  • Must be willing to travel

    • Strong Knowledge of JavaScript — rich interactive client interfaces (e.g. Ext.js), JSON, AJAX, DOM manipulation, Node.js
    • Experience in HTML5, Web Sockets, Ajax, JQuery, Java and web services
    • Hands on development experience with RESTful services
    • Hands on experience with Frameworks such as Spring and Play
    • Strong knowledge JUnit and Test Driven Development practices
    • Solid understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems
    • Knowledge of digital media, VOIP, WebRTC
    • Experience building web apps in a load balanced environment
    • Experience working with and configuring web servers and databases
    • Understanding of storage systems, firewalls, VPN, networking and/or virtualization technologies
    • Solid understanding of scalable design principles
    • Experience in delivering Enterprise Software Products
    • Ability to contribute to a complex distributed system while keeping that system as simple as possible
    • Strong problem solving abilities
    • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies
    • Able to work under minimal supervision
    • High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Able to energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
