This position is responsible for the providing product owner oversight to Corporate Energy Management, Historian and Common Component development and test team, leading new and existing development and test initiatives, and driving higher quality standards throughout this group.

The individual will be instrumental in ensuring adoption of scrum and agile methodologies, providing scrum related mentorship and coaching, identifying and monitoring governance metrics, ensuring robust development standards, defining test processes, driving test methods, risk analysis, development and test metrics reporting and resource planning.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, proven leadership skills, agile software development experience, deep understanding of formal development/test methodology/processes and experience with high-transaction, real-time production platforms.

• Lead the development organization toward an agile and metrics/data driven approach to quality assurance
• Increase initial quality and release quality of products
• Represent Customer needs and ensure high quality delivery from development and test teams

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for resources.
• Evaluate software requirements to create comprehensive user stories, design documents, test plans, cost and time estimates, equipment requirements, staffing levels  and procedures for all products
• Oversee/ensure the quality of development and test artifacts such as test plans, test cases, test matrix, and bug reporting
• Provide detailed status of each active project, including overall product quality, outstanding bugs, test progress, automation achievements, milestones achieved and upcoming milestones.
• Through example and informal training, lead and drive project teams toward 100% automated unit and functional testing
• Monitor, track, and report (on a regular basis) test status and bug statistics to QA/Engineers/Management
• Create, document, and implement detailed functional specification for development and test to consume.
• Give presentations to internal customers and external clients/prospects on product features

• A career software professional with software industry experience of 15+ years and lead responsibilities of 5+ years.
• High passion towards quality and making a difference within an organization
• Experience in working with outsourced teams and providing direction, review and validation of their work.
• Exceptional abilities designing/implementing development and test documents
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with specific experience managing information up and down   within a diverse and geographically distributed organization
• Expertise in authoring QA methodologies and strategies with a focus in white box, stress and Load testing, test case planning, and documentation
• Experience and demonstrable success with the full software development lifecycle
• Experience with Agile Development processes and adopts continuous development in every aspect of work
• Experience developing and testing entire systems, with capability to understand details of the technology.
• Successful track record as a ‘hands on’ leader in development and test teams, building and managing teams of top-notch professionals
• MS in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline

Qualifications

A plus to have any of the following:

• Previous coding and programming skills
• First-hand experience with the rollout of large enterprise wide software platforms
• Experience in the Industrial Automation, SCADA or DCS’s
• A great communicator and presenter
