As a Senior Reliability Engineer at Intuit, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing the production landscape including availability, performance, redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery
- Creating cloud-datacenter hybrid production environments
- Implementing large-scale operations projects
- Coaching Engineering to become self-sufficient DevOps teams
- Responding to and resolving technical emergencies
- Contributing to deployment scripts, tools, and methodologies
- Ensuring seamless artifact deployments to production servers using automated scripts and other deployment tools
- Making recommendations to, and interfacing with engineering to ensure 100% application uptime
- Maintaining and enhancing the monitoring strategy for our product line
Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years related experience
- Monitoring tools setup and configuration (Zabbix, Splunk JMX)
- Experience with load balancing (Apache/F5)
- Performance tuning of App/Web tier
- Familiarity with Tomcat and Java web applications
- Strong experience with automated deployments (Puppet/Chef a plus)
- Scripting expertise (Python a plus)
- Availability during off-hour scheduled maintenance windows and oncall rotations
- Familiarity with Amazon AWS suite and related architecture: EC2, ELB, S3 Buckets. Elastic Search and OpsWorks a plus
