Role Overview

The Dell SecureWorks Managed Security Operations Director is a leadership position with high visibility and significant responsibility supporting all clients receiving Dell SecureWorks Managed Security Services. This individual is responsible for providing direction, leadership, and mentorship to technical management and personnel within an operations environment as they provide support for products and services worldwide. In addition to supporting all aspects of operational support this individual will also exercise control over resources, policy formulation, and planning. Areas of ownership that are contained within this position are, but not limited to, the following:

Role Responsibilities
– Collaborates with subordinate leadership to set strategy and business
objectives
– May influence the strategic and/or long-term focus for the function
– Provides leadership and direction through lower-level leaders
– Implements tactical and strategic change through subordinate leaders
– Establishes operational objectives for leaders and/or teams of professionals
– Implements policies and defines approach to strategy achievement for area
managed
– Accountable for related performance objectives
– Initiates integrated business plans based on senior leadership strategy
– Responsible for managing the worldwide team members of Security Service
Operations personnel which may also include lower level leaders
– Leads teams in understanding the link between Dell objectives and their
contributions
– Develops budgets, schedules and performance requirements
– Responsible for supporting Human Resources in resolving employee-related
issues
– Proactively improve various aspects of service delivery through collaboration
with department leaders
– Actively engages with enterprise accounts to handle and address senior-level
escalations and resolve service concerns
– Works with Product Management to provide direction on the long-term vision of
Dell SecureWorks Managed Security Services
– Builds relationships with neighboring departments (i.e. Sales, Development, etc)
to ensure that they have the support that they need to support Operations within
their service charters
– Provides guidance and approvals for internal Dell SecureWorks’ Change
Management Board process
– Supports Human Resource and Recruiting processes to assist with retaining top
talent and hiring new team members to plan
– Develops strategic operational performance plans promoting a consistent
improvement of service delivery
– Builds long-term development and succession plans
– Applies influence and negotiation skills to drive business results
– Collaborates with key stakeholders both internal and external
– Serves as important liaison to external contacts (customers and vendors)
– Leads rigorous process and service improvement programs
– Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives
– Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures
operations’ effective achievement of objectives
– Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation
criteria for projects, programs, and people
– Owns strategic operational plan across geographies
– Drives and directs the largest teams or the teams with the most complex/highly
visible customers
– Identifies and oversees strategic service level, process improvements and
portfolio financial management

Qualifications

Requirements :

– 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and
work experience. 8+ years leadership experience
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Experience working in an enterprise level support environment with exceptional client
skills
– Ability to motivate, direct and lead large groups of people at all levels within the
organization
– Security fundamentals and knowledge of best practice methodology
– Requires strategic agility and the ability to deal with ambiguity, project
management skills, leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop
teams and individuals
– Demonstrated experience developing and driving support strategies and
operational plans
