Primary Job Responsibilities:

Develop QA vision at eBay Advertising and bring it to life in software and technology design and development

Set quality standards and policies and enforce them throughout the software development process

Develop and implement quality metrics and diagnostics tools

Manage on-site and offshore team of software QA engineers to develop functional, system and performance tests for all the business lines of eBay Advertising and automate existing test suites

Manage release engineering team

Recruit, train, manage, coach, evaluate and develop QA and release engineers and managers

Collaborate with senior managers in product, engineering, research, business and operations teams, understand product and technology needs and usage, and drive product quality to meet those needs

Job Requirements

At least 8+ years of experience in software industry and 4+ years of people management experience

Experience with very large scale, fast response, always-on software services (at least hundreds of servers) such as search engines, high-traffic web sites and other consumer Internet software

QA experience with complex web based applications, backed by database systems and Hadoop

Very good technical knowledge combined with 2+ years of software product development experience and 2+ in quality assurance

Track record of QA or development of successful products with very high quality, scale, performance and availability requirements

Good knowledge of best practices and current QA and software release methodologies

Thrives in fast paced environment while effectively balancing short vs. long term needs

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance competing needs and conflicts

Detail oriented, highly analytical, data driven decision maker with a bias for action

Out of box thinker, takes pride in innovation, motivates and inspires the team to achieve more

Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills
