We are seeking an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing accounts in South Central Region, including Texas, Colorado, Arkansas and New Mexico. Core goals will include attainment of all revenue goals, driving platform design wins and maintaining high customer satisfaction. While the State and Local Government Account Manager will not have any direct reports; they will lead a virtual team of encompassing technical specialists, solution specialists, managing consultants, premier support specialists and key stakeholders within the product groups in Redmond.
Required skills include: Ability to develop complex sales strategies that clearly define goals, strategies/tactics and metrics for measuring success, excellent written and verbal skills and a proven track record in dealing with CXO level and calling on senior executives within accounts. Must be able to sell at a strategic level in the account and be able to develop strategies to move forward and close opportunities and have the ability to understand a customer’s business issues and work with the account team to architect a buying vision around Microsoft solutions that solve business issues. Operational excellence in managing a pipeline of opportunities, revenue forecasting and conducting account/forecast reviews with senior management. Manage all aspects of the relationship between the customer, Microsoft, and industry partners. The ideal candidate can effectively use executive resources at Microsoft to move opportunities forward.
Candidates will have 5-8 years sales experience in mid-market accounts, ideally in selling solutions to state and local/federal government. A successful track record of exceeding revenue goals and a solid understanding of Microsoft technologies and strategic direction or a solid understanding of competitive solutions and the ability to quickly gain solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, solutions, and business value are a plus. State and Local Government industry experience will be advantageous as well as knowledge of Microsoft licensing programs. BA/BS degree preferred. Ideally, the candidate would reside in Texas or Colorado and must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
