The Position:

Our client is now in the second phase of their strategic research plan. Over the next ten years, they plan to raise at least $50 million to fund the research leading to clinical trials and then to a cure for hearing loss and tinnitus in our lifetime.

The Director of Development (DOD) will work with the Chief Executive Officer, Staff, Board, and volunteer committees leading the organizations fundraising toward the $50 million revenue target. To maximize resources, the DOD will manage all departmental activities, including the creation and execution of development plans, budgeting, and reporting of fundraising systems and procedures. The DOD will identify, prioritize, research and cultivate relationships with donors, with a particular focus on individual giving. The DOD will also manage Database Operations staff, as well as oversee any fundraising and event contractor employees.

We are seeking an individual with extraordinary leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the entire organization. The DOD must demonstrate a bold and innovative approach to fundraising and build upon our clients tremendous accomplishments to date. He or she must demonstrate maturity and discretion when interacting with high profile supporters and others for whom the organizations mission may resonate personally. The DOD must possess strong leadership, financial, communication (both written and oral) and administrative skills, as well as a proven ability to manage a portfolio of donors and solicit and secure gifts.

Ability to travel as needed and work evenings and weekends as required by events, meetings, and donor-related travel
