Job Description | Provides technical and engineering support services and works with various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Directs the performance of or performs one or more of the following tasks: depot level repair of systems; planning and performing tests and evaluations of systems, installations, or components; participating in setting up, installing and initiating the operation of, servicing of, and training on systems in the field; developing work plans required to ensure that all equipment has been checked out and operational before scheduled use; designing and developing special equipment or procedures required to perform calibrations or test; and performing spectrum analysis tests which includes the use of advanced computer electromagnetic compatibility engineering programs, spectrum analysis instructions for operation, calibration, service, and repair of equipment. Applies engineering techniques, principles, precedents, and concepts to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate mechanical or electrical equipment and/or associated support equipment of facilities. |
Basic Qualifications | A minimum of 12 years experience in performing the stated functions. In lieu of post-high school education/training, a total of 14 years experience in performing the stated functions.
At least 8 years experience providing operational and maintenance technical interface to Government customer, developing, writing, and implementing periodic maintenance procedures for range instrumentation, systems, and equipment. Experience developing test procedures for parametric measuring techniques to satisfying requirements for National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) certification. Experience developing new processes and procedures and techniques to refine capabilities and eliminate measurement uncertainties used in the art of Radar Cross Section measurement. Experience submitting and implementing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to improve performance and reliability of existing systems. Expereince in maintaining technical database of system configuration and performance data and establishing standards for operation and maintenance leading to the improved reliability of current hardware. Experience in technical evaluation of new equipment to establish fitness for use to include updated solid state devices considered for replacement of aging electron tube technology assets. |
Desired skills | Experience with Joint Strike Fighter test, or evaluation of instrumentation systems. Experience converting large quantities of technical and operational test data into analytical tools within short time spans. Experience working with RCS systems. Experience supporting operations at Pax River or PMRF locations. Experience using tools such as MatLab, LabView, etc. Experience working with successful teams in a complex highly competitive flight test environment. Top Secret clearance. |
