Job Overview: 
As a leading expert in cloud technology, the Director of Cloud Technology will serve as the chief architect of the Pega Cloud offering for the world’s leading BPM and Enterprise CRM Company. You will be responsible for the technology direction, planning, design, and delivery of the platform; ensuring that our PAAS platform is optimized for customer success, cost, scale and resilience. You will stay abreast of trends in the industry, technology and competition to ensure Pega establishes and maintains a differentiated, high performing cloud platform to support Pega’s current and future product direction. This role will work in collaboration with the Directors of Cloud Operations in the US and India and will manage the global team responsible for Cloud technology and architecture.

50%  Technical Architecture

  • Evaluate current core Cloud architecture relative to Pega’s product and go-to-market strategy and build and maintain a roadmap to evolve
  • Maintain an understanding of technology, industry and competitor trends to ensure Pega Cloud is a best in class offering
  • Partner with the cloud operations and security teams to ensure the architecture can be delivered in accordance within operational and security constraints and provide guidance on security and operational requirements and design
  • Effectively collaborate with core Pega Product teams to drive product requirements that will improve the Cloud operation and business.
25%  Technology

  • Present an innovative cloud strategy and future direction to customers, partners, industry analysts and other areas of the organization. This includes speaking engagements, webinars, and customer visits.
25%  Global Management and Leadership

  • Manage and set the strategic direction of the architecture teams in the US and India that are building out the cloud and system architecture
  • Manage and set the strategic direction of the development teams in the US and India that deliver the appropriate tools to manage the run-time platform, including: Service desk solution, monitoring tools, provisioning, and other automation
  • Utilize scrum to manage development teams

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science and/or 12+ years of experience in enterprise scale engineering and architecture
  • 5+ years’ experience in line management
  • In-depth knowledge of large scale systems design and optimization
  • Experience with JEE architecture and application servers (Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, or JBOSS)
  • Experience with database (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL,UDB or DB2)
  • Experience with Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and Industry trends
  • Strong client-facing interpersonal skills and superb oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to apply thought leadership and influence others
