Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Controller Southern Europe and working with the local Country Manager, this position is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, control and compliance for the region. To provide support to local sales teams and business leaders in the region to drive growth and support effective decision making.

Your Responsibilities
General Ledger – manage and maintenance of General Ledger accounts in accordance with both U.S. and local GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts, filing and ad hoc reporting.
Management Reporting – headcount by function/dept, cash forecast reporting, operating expenses reports, income statement reports, balance sheet reports, A/R aging report, commentaries for all reports, assist with expenses budgets and forecasts, year end legal audits, corporation tax calculation and reconciliations, year end accounts reports and reconciliations.
Payroll – monthly payroll calculations, liase with payroll bureau, ESPP, Pension and Taxes & Social Security deductions made and recorded, pay details informed to employees, payments made to employees, dealing with Stock Option & RSUs entries required for payroll, filing and ad hoc reporting. Review commissions.
VAT – preparing monthly returns, reconciliation of Input and Output Taxes, reconciliation of import VAT, payment of VAT to Customs and Excise, dealing with Custom and Excise audits, dealing with all Duty and VAT queries, filing and ad hoc reports.
Inter Company Reconciliation – entries into accounts, reconciliation of all Interco accounts, payments of Interco items.
Insurance – arrange local legally required insurance, update insurance information for US Global policy, deal with all insurance claims.
Legal Matters – Company law, to report any stock options granted, exercised or cancelled, co-ordinate all company secretarial matters with the company secretary bureau.
Revenue recognition – experience with revenue recognition for software companies (SOP 97-2) and as such be able to help the local sales team to structure deals and to verify of End User Licence Agreements and Exhibit A’s to ensure that they comply with company and revenue recognition policy. Working in partnership with local business leaders, legal, SOG and Revenue Recognition and provide financial direction.
Controls – ensure local expense procedures are communicated and followed by all employees.
Collections – Collect accounts receivables, through dunning letters, and calls to customers in coordination with our Shared Services Center in India. Get the collections organized such that the DSO is with the companies guideline.
Sarbanes-Oxley – ensure SOX procedures are reviewed and tested regularly plus that the procedures are followed and are effective.
Facilities Management – deal with any facilities issues that may arise

Your skills / experience
Ability to read, speak and understand English language.
Local and US GAAP reporting experience.
Ability to be self-sufficient and work as a team.
Hands on – Customer focus
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent skills in Excel.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Finance.
Good attention to detail.
Accurate reporting skills.
Experience within the US software industry.
Cash forecasting & treasury management experience
Software Revenue Recognition experience (SOP 97-2)
Good knowledge of Italian statutory requirements.
Experience of working with PeopleSoft a plus.
