Job Summary
Apple’s Customer Systems team is looking for an seasoned Server engineer who has soliddesign and architecture skills at the same time passionate about hands on development. This team builds the leading edge customer service applications that have helped keep Apple #1 in customer support for over ten years in a row. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing interfaces and services using leading Java based technologies. The candidate must possess excellent leadership & software engineering skills, be a pro-active solution-oriented individual with strong communication skills
Key Qualifications
* 8+ years of solid experience in designing and developing scaleable web applications
* Experience building a service oriented architecture hosted on lightweight containers like Tomcat or embedded Jetty
* Hands on experience with technologies like Java, Spring, Oracle, NoSQL, persistence mechanisms like JPA, myBatis, Spring JDBC.
* Experience building RESTful services and integrating it with client applications
* A creative individual with key understanding of usability and testability of an application
* Strong understanding of design principles, security and scaleability.
* Fast troubleshooter of problems in design or in production.
* Experience in front end technologies like JS, jQuery, backbone.js etc is a plus
Description
As a lead engineer oversee design and development of server side application at the same time opportunity to be perform hands on coding. Be responsible for overall application performance, security and scaleability and in that sense oversee testing activities. Mentor and guide a team of developers in different geographies. Conduct design and code reviews and encourage test driven development. This is a key role in a fast growing business division of Apple and your passion and efforts can play a major role in the organization’s success
Education
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
