Position summary

Adobe is looking for a Legal & Technology Audit Specialist to perform intellectual property audits of our products. The Legal & Technology Audit Specialist uses a variety of methods and tools to identify evidence of third-party open source and commercial code as well as other intellectual property, then reports the findings to the engineering and legal teams for resolution. In addition, the Legal & Technology Audit Specialist is expected to continuously identify and proactively implement improvements to our audit tools and processes. This position provides you with the opportunity to use your knowledge of intellectual property law and open source licensing, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and technical expertise to provide outstanding audit services to Adobe’s development and legal teams.

Responsibilities

Manage audits for a specific set of Adobe products: proactively monitor product schedules to ensure audits are initiated on time; assist development teams in preparing their code for auditing; perform code analysis; deliver audit results to development and legal teams; track issue resolutions.
Understand and clearly communicate verbally and in writing about IP law, specifically the subtleties of commercial and open source licensing.
Combine knowledge of software development practices, license interpretation and risk analysis to recommend an appropriate course of action in response to audit findings.
Transform very complex audit findings into simple, step-by-step action items for legal and engineering teams.
Innovate and proactively implement audit process improvements.
Deliver fantastic customer service to the Adobe development and legal teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Experience using a variety of software tools, including databases.
Minimum 5 years’ experience providing legal support to engineering groups in a software company
Basic understanding of commercial software development practices including build systems and the various ways in which code may be used in a software product.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing with people in all areas of the organization, from junior non-technical staff to senior engineering and legal individuals.
Ability to quickly make decisions which protect Adobe while balancing business priorities.
Strong ability and desire to independently organize very complex projects, driving hundreds of issues to completion while maintaining high quality standard.
